For the best result you should custom fit?

If you want to look your best, you get a suit tailored to your exact measurements right?

Well, if you want to play your best golf you should have all your golf clubs tailored to your measurements too.

Every golfer is unique in terms of their physical attributes and swing type. A tall player with long arms can for example require shorter golf clubs than an average height person with short arms. Tailoring a golf club to match an individual swing type ensures the club is square at impact to produce a long, straight shot.

We use Dynamic fitting, where we analyse your natural form on the range to determine the clubs best for you.

Dynamic Static fitting also involves the input of vital statistics (including: Gender, Dexterity, Height, Swing Speed and Glove Size) and is used to calculate the appropriate shaft length, shaft flex, lie angle, and grip size.

What can be customised?

Shaft Length

The ability of the golfer to strike the ball consistently on the sweet spot is the determining factor when deciding on the desired club length. Club length is determined by the needs of the individual.

Shaft Flex

Choosing the right shaft flex is one of the most important aspects of club fitting. Since the shaft flex can affect distance, ball flight, trajectory and feel, this portion of the fitting process is very important. Fitting shaft flex is not as simple as calculating club head speed. There exists a relationship between club head speed and swing tempo. Two players with identical club head speeds might require different shaft flexes.

Lie Angle

Lie Angle influences both the set up position and how the ground affects the angle of the clubface thought impact. The lie angle is the most important part of the iron. Setting the lie correctly is like sighting in a rifle. It must be correct for the shot to be accurate.

Grip Size

Small or Large hands and glove size are not the only determining factor for grip size. The size of the grip can influence ball direction. If a grip is too large, a right hander will have a tendency to hit a ball more to the right. This is due to the individual not being able to roll the wrists over as easily. If the grip is too small the ends of the fingers of the upper hand will dig into the palm making gripping the club very uncomfortable.

Loft

Having the correct loft with the driver is extremely important. Not enough loft and the ball won?t get in the air causing the player to make a compensation in their swing to try to lift the ball up causing hooks and slices. The same problem if there is too much loft can cause the player to try to hit down to much on the ball resulting in too much backswing and less distance.

We have at our disposal several fitting carts and systems to use. Our Ping Nflight computer fitting system is perfect for diver fitting to help get the perfect balance between loft, shaft and length to allow the golfer to get maximum distance without loss of accuracy.

We also have iron fitting systems from Ping, Callaway and Mizuno.

Our Golf Centre staff are happy to arrange an appointment with one of our expert staff to make sure your custom fitting experience is one to remember.

Club Regripping

Golfers too often neglect their grip by only considering replacement when the standard grips that came with your clubs become worn. Clubs are typically sold with standard grips that make assumptions regarding your hand size and swing that are not always accurate. Grip sizes that are too small for your hand can lead to your club face closing prematurely during your backswing, leading to a hook. Grip sizes that are too large for your hand can lead to the club face opening on impact, resulting in a slice.

The correct grip for you should match your hand size with your preference of firmness and feel while also taking in to consideration the weather conditions in which you play.

We recommend Lamkin grips because of their quality, value for money and superior range. Click here to find the perfect grip for you, or visit the Golf Centre to view the range on offer and upgrade your grips.
