Garry Dougall
Pennant Manager

The Club Board have made clear their aim to promote and invest in pennant golf at Green Acres. Strategies are being developed to improve the Club's pennant performance.

With this is mind, planning for the 2009 Mens pennant season is already well underway. A leadership group charged with developing and implementing strategies designed to improve our performance has been formed and consists of Garry Dougall, Manager; Brian Wasley, Assistant Manager; Jim Toohey, Colts Manager; James Bayly, Assistant Colts Manager, and Dean Mottram, who has capably filled the role of Pennant captain for the last two years.

This year we intend to launch a mentor program aimed at fast tracking our promising younger players into the forefront of pennant competition. Promising juniors will be paired with experienced pennant players who will oversee their coaching, practice and golfing progress and report back to the leadership group. Combined with our junior program (which enjoys the reputation of one of the best in Melbourne), and other established programs, we look forward to some positive outcomes for 2009.

We encourage members to become involved in pennant and will use this website as a communication tool to advise of our progress.

The pennant season is played from March to May. Members are encouraged to support our pennant players and teams and take an active interest in the results and progress of our fine representative members.
